The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is recruiting to fill a vacancy in the Carson City Office. The incumbent works in the Division's Preparedness Program and is responsible for supervision of the Hazard Mitigation Program; developing goals, milestones, and project plans for the program; providing hazard mitigation technical assistance to the state, local jurisdictions, and tribes; maintaining and improving the State (Enhanced) Hazard Mitigation Plan; managing the programmatic aspects of the various federal hazard mitigation grants; coordinating and assuring the open meeting law is met for the Hazard Mitigation Workgroup; developing and implementing hazard mitigation training; reviewing hazard mitigation grant applications; reviewing and evaluating local hazard mitigation plans for local and tribal jurisdictions; attending local, state, and federal meetings; building and promoting partnerships between all stakeholders by establishing and maintaining effective relationships; supervising the mitigation specialist position; and representing the state to FEMA as the State Hazard Mitigation Officer (SHMO).
Activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and/or local emergency operation centers may occur in the event of a major emergency. All positions within the agency perform a role to support the emergency operations. This may serve to disrupt or totally change all previously established work performance standards, requiring 100% of time until the emergency is over. During activation, the EOC's may be in operations 24/7 for an extended period of time to include weekends and holidays. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
