About Sr. Display Engineer

  Description

  As a Display Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

  Key job responsibilities

  • Work with a component engineering team and product engineering team to provide stack design, rapid prototyping and characterization of next generation on displays for Amazon products

  • Provide support for prototyping and manufacturing of displays through proper selection of materials for user facing surfaces, adhesives (optical and non-optical), encapsulation, lamination process, sensor selection

  • Use statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP for design of experiment and data analysis

  • Work with cross-functional team to draft component specification, design reviews, work with vendors to manufacture parts and validate results by specifying test parameters and methodologies

  • Communicate and manage overseas component manufacturing vendors

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Sunnyvale, CA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field

  7+ years of experience in the consumer electronics or related as a materials or process engineer working on displays, encapsulation, lamination, sensor process, optical bonding, display or touch technology development

  Experience in Minitab, DOE principles, basic statistical process control

  Experience with display component characterization and product integration

  Patent or publishing experience

  Experience leading / delivering in cross-functional teams

  Experience in managing vendor-based projects

  Ability to travel internationally when required

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field

  Experience in Matlab programming

  Proficiency in at least one of the following CAD packages: Creo or Solidworks

  Experience/course work in OLED technology background, flexible displays, printed electronics, sensor development and integration, optical bonding, process optimization, process development, optical coating, optical testing, and optical materials

  Experience working with international, cross-functional teams

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
