What you'll be doing...
As the Director of Business Intelligence (BI), you will play an integral role as part of the Verizon Connect leadership team by providing deep data insights and a lean six sigma methodology to continuously adapt to shifting customer and industry trends. In this role, your goal will be to help Verizon Connect grow in revenue and margins. This role will report directly to the General Manager of Verizon Connect and provide support to the Executive Leadership Team to ensure high quality, efficient internal business operations.
Specifically, you will lead two teams:
Business Intelligence Center of Excellence
Data Analytics
Key responsibilities include:
Aligning BI requirements across the organization and evolving the blueprint for how we use data to make decisions, while ensuring the right systems are in place to support BI needs.
Leading the team that supports executive business presentations, data deep dives, playbook maintenance, and other activities related to data analysis and market research.
Working closely with the sales team to create future revenue and margin models based on specific Sales strategies.
Managing a team of Lean Six Sigma experts who support Verizon Connect-wide strategic initiatives and ensure strategic alignment.
Leading an effort to evolve the organization to a self-serve/sandbox BI model through tools & training.
Driving alignment on business reporting requirements to manage the day-to-day health of the business including End to End Key Performance Indicators (E2E KPIs) vs Targets.
Managing the operating rhythm of Objectives and Key Results strategy.
Ensuring alignment and prioritization between objectives and a path to implementation on each functional roadmap.
Driving E2E alignment of special projects across Verizon Business, and minimizing inefficiencies and duplications.
Evaluating tools and processes to make programs and roles easier and more efficient.
What we're looking for...
A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
8+ years of relevant experience
7+ of years experience leading large global teams
Experience working in a SaaS company
Experience with Financial analysis and revenue and margin model creation
Experience with business and process improvement planning and implementation, such as Lean Six Sigma
Even better if you have:
A Master's degree (MBA preferred)
Proven track record and success in the areas of analytics, statistics, data architecture, data insights, and business planning in the technology industry
Very strong financial acumen
Ability to manage and influence client relationships at the senior executive level
Strong existing network and credibility with Hoshin and related strategic and tactical planning
Strong strategic thinking, with experience designing creative solutions to address challenges and define and interpret analyses on the competitive landscape to inform Verizon Connect's positioning
Internal stakeholdering skills
Excellent people leadership skills, with the ability to advise, build new networks, and cultivate trust-based relationships at the senior executive level
Solid foundation in business fundamentals and assessing ROI of identified opportunities, as well as solid knowledge of Agile and broader software industry products and trends
Proven ability to engage and manage diverse teams, such as product development, sales, and engineering, in qualifying opportunities and defining solutions to meet client challenges
Strong organization and project management skills, with an ability to oversee the building of complex, multi-departmental proposals
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proficiency in the necessary tools (e.g. G-Suite, Tableau, Looker, Excel, Google Cloud, SQL server, AWS, Snowflake, Teradata, Talend, Informatica, SSIS)
