  About the Job

  Responsible for tuning complex SQL queries, procedures and indexing strategies for better performanceIdentify missing indexes on the databases and implement it for better performanceAnalysis of long running, execution plans and provide recommendations to improve performanceShould have experience in transaction replication in replicating large size tables from large databasesYou will analyze, design, develop, test, maintain and implement database solutions within Thomson Reuters suite of applicationsWorking with other disciplines, such as software, product, architecture, dev/ops, and performance, you will design the best product solutionsYou will use your expertise to provide technical leadership for an application development teamPerforming full life cycle SQL/NoSql code and model development, including researching technical options for features, providing guidance and feedback on the findings and building proof of concepts to confirm the best approachCreate solutions utilizing the best data storage technology for the use case (i.e. RDBMS, NoSql, Data Lake, etc.)Work with performance engineers to monitor system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance and availabilityApply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectationsAssist developers with complex query tuning, schema refinement, and determining differences between releases/environmentsPerforms database code/script/package reviews

  About You

  Bachelor's degree in a Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related fieldFluent English7+ years of developing for MS SQL Server or performing Database Engineering dutiesExperience with relational databases reaching over 10TBHeavy performance tuning experience and SQL optimizationExperience with non-traditional methods of performance tuningMentorship abilities requiredAbility to work shoulder to shoulder with development teams.
