Position Specific Description
This position will be responsible for handling claims on assigned programs that may be complex in nature on behalf of Palms Insurance Company. The Sr. Clams Agent-Specialty Lines will be required to do the following:
Responsible for all aspects of file handling of both in-house and third-party administered claims through diligent investigation and assessment.
Strategically partner with counsel, experts and vendors to analyze and determine coverage, manage & evaluate the claim investigation and overall claim while updating internal and external stakeholders.
Continually evaluate claims to set appropriate, timely reserves over the life of the claim to reflect changes in exposure.
Advise management and legal counsel on strategy regarding complex loss matters
Manage service needs of Palms, MGA’s and TPA’s as required
Assist with draft policy language reviews and ongoing department procedural initiatives as needed
Maintain accurate and updated claim files throughout the life of the claim
Perform pre and post binding claim audits as needed
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:
Ability to work on matrixed team in a fast-paced startup environment
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of coverage issues, policy forms, contracts, regulatory requirements, and changing legal landscape for specialty line claims.
Understanding of technical claims proficiency and execution of best claim practices.
Excellent analytical/negotiation skills
Excellent communication and commercial skills with strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments and vendors.
Ability to resolve complex claims with minimal supervision
Good analytical thinking, advocacy and negotiation skills
Additional Qualifications Preferred:
10+ years of experience handling complex specialty lines claims
Experience working with/as a staff adjuster, Independent Adjuster (IA) or Third-Party Claims Administrator (TPA) on related coverage lines
Maintain valid adjusters’ license(s) in states assigned or an ability to obtain same.

This position is responsible for handling personal injury and major property damages claims asserted by or against the company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Investigates, evaluates and negotiates satisfactory settlements of personal injury and major property damage claims
• Provides support and assistance to company attorneys throughout the claims litigation process, including court testimony
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
• High School Grad / GED
• Experience: 6+ years
