　　Sr. Accountant - Inventory

　　Our manufacturing client in Metro Detroit is looking for a Sr Accountant, specializing in Inventory, to join their team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate has large-scale Plant manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of SAP. This is a possible contract-to-hire opportunity! Some travel required outside of Michigan.

　　The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

　　Reconciliation of Inventory Ledgers and inventory related liabilities on a monthly basis.

　　Participate in the monthly close process and review material and production variances to ensure accuracy of inventory, capitalized costs, COGS, and reporting.

　　Preparation of internal control on accounting processes and ensure compliance with SOX for inventory and related operations.

　　Support external audit for interim and year-end audit procedures.

　　Partner closely with key internal stakeholders (i.e., PLM, supply chain, logistics, production, FP& A, IT etc.) to streamline workflows, reduce monthly close cycle time and ensure a continuous improvement in inventory and cost accounting processes.

　　Partner with operations in manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain to understand products costs and variance drivers.

　　Requirements

　　The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

　　Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

　　Proficient in US GAAP

　　Automotive industry experience preferred or experience in the large-scale Plant manufacturing space with a large supplier base

　　Working knowledge of SAP S4 Hanna or related manufacturing systems

　　Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

　　Ability to build cross functional partnerships and work in a collaborative environment.
