Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant position located near Tuscaloosa AL. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities, including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance of accounting records, analysis of accounts, and reconciliation of accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of the month-end close process, including journal entries and allocations, variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Handle the accounting for company-wide fixed assets and capital expenditures.

• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the supplies inventory process.

• Record, maintain, and report deferred mine development costs.

• Assist in maintaining and setting up new vendors and maintaining appropriate records.

• Participate in Corporate financial reporting responsibilities and assist in research of technical accounting issues and draft technical accounting memorandums, where necessary.

• Assist with the annual financial statement audit and other requests from internal and external auditors.

• Maintain detailed supporting documentation as required by internal Sarbanes-Oxley compliance guidelines.

• Communicate with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Requirements

Candidates for the Senior Accountant position must have a degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years of full cycle accounting experience or 2+ years of public accounting experience.
