Description
A Senior Accountant is responsible for handling various financial tasks within a company. They play a crucial role in the organization when it comes to maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external use.
Key responsibilities might include:
Preparing financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
Managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, utilities, treasury, and budgeting.
Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures.
Analyzing financial performance and forecast longer-term horizons based on these analyses.
Ensuring company compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Assisting the financial manager in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
Managing tax preparation and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Auditing and internal control operations.
Assisting with the management of client relationships.
Providing effective risk management and ensure business activities are compliant with relevant acts, legal demands, and ethical standards.
Performing necessary tasks related to insurance, benefits, and tax.
Qualifications typically include a degree in accounting or a related field, an accounting certification such as a bachelor's degree, and several years of experience in a business or finance environment. Advanced proficiency in standard office software systems and specialized accounting programs may also be required.

Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Ability to meet deadlines
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Efficient in ERP systems
BA/BS in Accounting
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience
