Description:
The job role supports the engineering rotational development programs for campus hires, that provides a highly engaging onboarding and development experience to meet the talent development needs of the engineering community. Also, the role manages the onboarding and development process, collaboration with hiring managers to achieve the developmental requirements, maintain the metric dashboards and manage the improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or equivalent experience
Job Specific Requirements
This position requires knowledge of Caterpillar Onboarding plans, learning and talent development processes. Experience in the fields of Engineering Services / Product development and Manufacturing will be an advantage to manage this position.
Also, Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required to effectively work with a wide range of participants and customer groups wherein this position will require to coordinate program related events and training support activities.
Responsibilities:
Manages the new employee programs but not limited to the following;
Coordinates and plans program from the initial orientation, Onboarding plan, instructor-led training courses, webinars/information meetings, development events such as Summit/Product Experience and networking activities.
Partners with SMEs and internal process owners to effectively plan the events.
Manages the program policies / processes. Partners with hiring managers and other administration team members to review and document program policies and processes.
Maintains an effective communication with participants to engage them on the program deliverables.
Responds to the Business partner questions, concerns, and issues in a timely manner by demonstrating Caterpillar Values.
Manages the feedback surveys and associated program metric dashboards. Gathers survey data and synthesizes results for communication to Leaders at defined intervals
Actively participates in program improvement discussions resulting from survey feedback.
Coordinates instructor-led training on the core engineering subjects.
Partners with program participants to publish newsletters and rotation summaries as well as update the ERDP Resource Handbook.
Collaborates with regional /global process partners, and shares the best practices in new employee development.
Knowledge of employee training and development methodologies; ability to demonstrate product knowledge and skills on earthmoving equipment.
