The Position
We are seeking a Sourcing Manager to be responsible for providing leadership and management in support of direct and indirect procurement activities for Alene’s multiple manufacturing facilities.
Direct material management will include new product development support, commodity management of specified category, support for supplier development, contract management and leadership. Indirect materials management will consist of supporting MRO spend management, capital expenditure support, contract review and negotiation and leadership of the Indirect team. Additionally, you will support sustainability, regulatory and compliance initiatives driven by both Alene Candles and our customers.
Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, you will work closely with multiple business functions including Product Development, Project Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain colleagues at multiple sites. Metrics will include New Product Development/Introduction timeline success rate, net sourcing savings, supplier scorecard performance and spend under agreement.
There will be international and domestic travel requirements associated with the position to support global sourcing initiatives.
The Location
We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This is an onsite position. There is potential for a hybrid schedule after training as determined by the hiring manager and employee.
Additional Job Details
Lead a well-established team of indirect and direct sourcing team members.
Provide leadership identifying, qualifying and supporting both domestic and international sources of multiple raw material types.
Support new product development initiatives.
Support team securing and analyzing quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
Develop and maintain a level of expertise for specific commodities to give forward guidance for pricing exercises. Utilize this knowledge to secure the best sources considering quality, cost and security of supply.
Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
Support regulatory and compliance initiatives with suppliers
Develop, maintain, and improve supplier lead-times that meet or exceed customer expectations while minimizing cost (expedite charges, excess inventory).
Identify and initiate projects to improve supply chain strategies, policies and practices to achieve Best-in-Class Supply Chain Management.
Manage and evaluate overall vendor performance through the use of metrics and scorecards.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (preference – concentration in Supply Chain Management).
5-10 years of relevant purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Direct experience with sourcing materials internationally.
Previous leadership or management experience is required.
Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant experience in consumer goods.
APICS or ISM certification a plus.
Strong working knowledge of international trade and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical skills combined with practical business acumen.
Sourcing experience and oversight of indirect spend categories.
Experienced with managing international shipments (ocean and air),
ERP experience; experience with IFS a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership skills.
Sourcing experience in support of new product development and introduction.
Demonstrated ability in managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability in building relationships across various functional teams.
