Our Defense Business Unit is seeking a Solution Architect with passion for data analytics with experience in Modern Data Warehouse, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Data Platform, Business Intelligence, and Data Visualization with hands-on experience leveraging these platforms in the US Federal sector. The ideal candidate will need experience working with external/internal US Department of Defense customers delivering Azure-based data analytics solutions that drive strong business impact.

Responsibilities
The Solution Architect -Data & AI is responsble for working within a team of project managers, data scientists and consultants to deliver Azure cloud data analytics consulting engagements; typical responsibilities include:
• Educating our customers and partners on the power data analytics using the Azure Cloud
• Interacting with senior executives and key stakeholders in our customers to formulate data analytics solutions that address challenges facing their organizations
• Developing and maintaining a high level of technical proficiency in Azure cloud data analytics and AI/ML services
• Creating and sharing IP that leverages Azure cloud data analytics services
Engagement activities will require the ideal candidate to demonstrate:
• Extensive prior experience in Big Data, modern data warehouse, business intelligence, data ingestion & transformation (ETL/ELT), IOT, analytics model and data visualization
• Background in integration of data analytics into applications and systems
• Ability to work in a challenging, dynamic environment with multiple interactions across teams with different backgrounds ranging from sales and services to research teams
• Professional experience in a consulting or IT services organization
Across all our various technology areas, Solution Architects are responsible for:
• Acting as a trusted advisor for our customers; understanding customer & partner technical environments, as well as key industry trends
• Gathering and understanding customer insights from a broad range of stakeholders; functioning as customer advocate for these insights with product groups and engineering teams
• Designing and deploying complex solution architectures, leveraging reference architecture patterns and practices
• Collaborating and communicating across program management, project management, and account management teams to drive a unified approach on customer priorities, requirements, constraints, approaches, principles, design concepts and expectations
• Jointly leading implementation and deployment with Project Managers to achieve desired outcomes while managing technical, business and engagement risk
• Generating new and/or improved intellectual property to help grow our catalog of solutions for customers
• Sharing ideas, insights, and strategies with technical teams, internal communities across the field, and the larger virtual team across Microsoft.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
OR equivalent experience.
1+ year{s} experience leading blended multidisciplinary teams
2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
6+ years of work experience in the data analytics field with emphasis in cloud data platforms, Big Data, modern data warehouse, business intelligence, data ingestion & transformation (ETL/ELT), IOT, analytics models and data visualization
4+ years of experience applying analytics tools/technologies in cloud computing environments
Other Requirements:
The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Cloud Screening:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
US Citizenship:
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years technical sales experience.
6+ years project management experience.
3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.
Technical or Professional Certification in Domain (e.g., Security)
Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,500 - $205,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,000 - $222,000 per year.
