We are looking for an engineering leader eager to own a new initiative to optimize system performance and cost efficiency at the heart of DynamoDB. In this role, you will lead us on a journey toward a next-generation cloud database that takes advantage of the latest hardware advancements to deliver amazing performance at an attractive price point.

　　As a software development manager on the DynamoDB storage team, you will lead a team of passionate engineers to build reliable, highly optimized systems. You and your team will sit at the unique crossroads where low-level storage systems and high-scale distributed systems intersect.

　　To succeed in the role, you must be passionate about both solving deep technical challenges and being a great people manager. You must care deeply about system availability and reliability, and understand what it means to own a mission-critical service.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　3+ years of engineering team management experience

　　7+ years of engineering experience

　　8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

　　Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

　　Experience partnering with product or program management teams

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

　　Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

　　Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
