About Service Desk Technician I

  JOB REQUIREMENTS: Northwood Technical College is seeking applicationsfrom qualified candidates for a full-time Service Desk Technician I atthe New Richmond Campus. Under the direction of the Service DeskTechnician III, the Service Desk Technician I is responsible for thedaily operation of the assigned campus/location computing environment;providing direct support to college staff and students; and implementingpolicies and procedures in accordance with overall objectives of collegecomputing systems. Responsibilities Model cultural competencies thatreflect Northwood Tech\'s Mission, Vision, Values, Learning CollegeTenets, and On Course Principles by: Assessing own lifelong learning andusing self-management to progress toward established personal andprofessional goals. Demonstrating creativity, collaboration, criticalthinking, and problem-solving skills through mutually supportiverelationships. Communicating authentically in personal and groupsettings by using creator language to effectively exchange ideas,thoughts, and knowledge. Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusiveworking and learning environment. Leading positive change whiledemonstrating civility and empathy. Finding value in consistentlyacquiring and applying innovative ideas and technology to supportcontinuous quality improvement. Serving as the first point of contactfor customers seeking technical assistance through the Help Desk.Provide support to students and staff. Provide technical assistance inthe management of computer systems. Install, configure, upgrade andsupport software/hardware. Assist in maintaining the campus local areanetwork. Provide written documentation of software/hardware to includetraining and demonstration of the use of software and equipment.Coordinate the use of project and task planning methodologies forassigned tasks and projects. Keep current with new and emergingtechnologies. Demonstrate a positive impression of Northwood Tech ininternal and external relationships. Actively participate in campus andcollege-wide teams and committees Other duties as assigned. *****OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Associate\'s degree (or two yearspost-secondary education) in related field Two years related workexperience Degree & Experience Equivalency: High School Diploma Fouryears related work experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Abilityto communicate effectively both written and verbally Proficiency in theuse of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively applytechnology to tasks and projects Ability to contribute to a teamenvironment while maintaining positivity and professionalism Strongcustomer service skills and a focus on creative problem solving Timemanagement skills that apply organization and prioritizationdemonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently Ability toobtain driver\'s license and insurance coverage in accordance withCollege policy ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online:www.northwoodtech.edu/about/employment Other: Your application will beconsidered complete when we have received a completed onlineapplication, a cover letter addressing all of the qualifications forthis position, a resume, and original or copies of official orunofficial college transcripts.
