As a pivotal member of the Avionics Computing Products department, you will collaborate with a diverse team of systems, hardware, and software engineers, spearheading the development of innovative computing products for the Avionics Business Unit.

  In this role, you will take on the exciting challenge of being an avionics systems networking engineer. We are seeking candidates with a proven history in specifying, designing, verifying, and testing electronic systems. Your responsibilities will span the creation of comprehensive requirements, meticulous verification and validation, and the development of detailed design documentation for avionics electronic systems.   Primary Responsibilities:

  Capture system requirements, design, test cases, and test procedures.

  Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the lab.

  Development of system test strategy and integration activities.

  Technical collaboration among systems, hardware, and software design functions.

  Working with our Advanced Networking Systems group to develop advanced networking solutions for avionics problems.

  Assist in resolving technical problems that cross hardware and software functional domain areas.

  Mentor other systems engineers.

  Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  Demonstrated experience as a systems engineer throughout the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification, and validation.

  Excellent communication skills to communicate technical issues and status in both written and oral form to internal and external customers.

  Adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience with bid and pursuit work.

  Experience developing in the Agile framework.

  Experience with safety critical system, hardware, or software development (e.g. DO-178C, DO-254,DO-297, or ARP4754A).

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
