Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Consulting Cybersecurity Services is seeking a Senior Threat Hunter to join a global Threat Hunting team. This is an opportunity to be part of a global team of innovative and highly trained individuals focused on cybersecurity threat hunting and continuous improvement of security operations monitoring and response capabilities.
Develop or contribute to the development of core fundamental components of the Threat Hunting program.
Dedicate primary daily focus to searching for threats and anomalies in different environments.
Execute both proactive and reactive Threat Hunting activities to identify and mitigate advanced threats supported by CTI, incident response and other inputs.
Work closely with the intelligence team for continuous visibility of critical vulnerabilities, threat actors, threat actor campaigns, TTPs, and changes in the cyber threat landscape.
Generate Threat Hunting reports in different formats (Word, PPT, etc.) and for different audiences (executive, technical, etc.).
Documentation and management of a hunting library aligned to MITER ATT&CK®.
Develop content and execute activities that support continuous improvement of threat monitoring and detection using BAS tools.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Working knowledge of Cyber Kill Chain, MITER ATT&CK® and how each methodology can be applied to Threat Hunting.
Experience in detecting advanced attack methodologies through log analysis in tools such as EDR, SIEM, FW, etc.
Experience with detection firms such as Sigma, YARA, SIEM queries, EDR, Kestrel, etc.
Knowledge of Windows, Linux/*NIX and macOS operating systems, as well as command line tools.
Experience with Python, JavaScript and/or PowerShell.
Knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks.
Knowledge of common TTPs used by threat actors, as well as the tools and methods to hunt them.
Knowledge of tools such as Safe Breach, Cymulate, etc.
Use of Microsoft Office office package.
Desired certifications: eCTHP, GCFA, CompTIA Pentest+, CySA+.
