Description:

　　Senior Systems Engineer to build, consolidate and decommission data centers. There will be an emphasis on planning, documenting, architecting, physical and logical installing of computer equipment and their supporting software.

　　• Communicate to all division managers and stakeholders

　　• Document current environment and plot upgrade paths with least disruptions

　　• Install newer hardware and software

　　• Decommission and uninstall older, end of life systems

　　Deliverables schedule: Monthly cadence reports are expected with percentage of completion and challenges until completion.

　　Applicable standards: Vendor best practices should be followed. Considerations for budget, security, scalability and performance are additional factors.

　　Acceptance criteria: Physical and logical Server and Storage installations and provisioning. VMware, Microsoft operating systems, disaster recovery, data center moves and enterprise infrastructure architecture knowledge are required. AZURE, NetApp storage and Cisco UCS deployments are also required. HPE/3Par, Linux, FC IP stack and various Microsoft mail solutions are a plus.

　　Special requirements: Candidate is expected to be physically on-site for the majority of the tasks. Remote access will be provided via a City-issues laptop. Ability to lift 40 pounds.

　　Depending on the candidate’s work product, it can be Hybrid with the understanding that if we do a schedule like 3 days onsite and 2 off, that he/she may be called in if we have any events or issues that require him / her too. The goal would be to have them in a Hybrid setup and that will depend on the candidate and their work and how fast they get up to speed with our environment.
