We are launching brand new products and product lines at National Grid, and as a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be there at the inception! Our products go through a validation phase, where we answer the question: "What is the business problem we are trying to solve", and together with your product/design/UX/business counterparts, you'll be responsible for narrowing the scope, defining a solution, and working with your team to solve it. Your crucial work will help illions of National Grid customers and help lead the way for mobile efforts within National Grid!
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take on a critical role of turning business needs into technology solutions specifically working within our customer business, as part of the mobile teamYou'll provide support and mentorship to the engineering teamYou'll collaborate with teams on other products and business units on technologyYou'll work on system/software design and development
What you'll need
5+ years of experience in software development as a developerStrong C# and React engineer, in this role you'll be seen as a subject matter expertExperience building APIs with C#, preferably inside AzureAbility to grow technically and maintain a customer-first mentality, the motivation to take the initiative to own and resolve issuesExperience in mobile development. It'd be awesome if you had React Native experience, but this is not a hard requirement!Solid communication and documentation skills

More Information
Candidates must be based or be open to relocating to MA, NY, NJ, NH, CT, RI, ME, VT or PA. For Candidates within these States it's a hybrid role i.e., occasional travel to our corporate hub. The frequency being roughly once a quarter.

Salary
$120,000 - $169,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
