Senior Research Technician - Sustainability, Fire and Analytical

　　Position Description

　　Job Summary

　　The Senior Research Technician safely performs advanced specialized technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning complex processes, and equipment for gypsum drywall (raw material qualification, fire resistance, lightweight, low embodied carbon additives).

　　Job duties include but are not limited to:

　　Prepares/processes materials samples including:

　　Active involvement in standard and exploratory experiment design for gypsum boards

　　Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples,

　　Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as the design of fixtures

　　Collects, analyzes, and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination. Performs preliminary statistical data analysis and present results and maintains laboratory notebook

　　Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments. Leads troubleshooting initiatives and machine repair efforts. Interacts with facilities and outside contractors for machine and equipment repairs.

　　Train new technicians in equipment operation, troubleshooting, data acquisition, and techniques

　　Order and inventory materials to maintain supplies.

　　Required Qualifications

　　Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or science-related field, or demonstrated equivalent with 4-7 years of related experience

　　Knowledge of MS Office
