About Accounting Clerk

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and data entry for construction-related expenses

Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and cash application for project billings

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies related to construction materials and subcontractor invoices

Assist with job cost accounting, tracking project expenses and ensuring accurate allocation to specific projects

Prepare and submit payroll reports for construction project labor costs, including certified payroll as required

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial reports and analysis of project profitability

Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for construction projects

Assist with compliance requirements related to prevailing wage rates, union agreements, and regulatory reporting for construction projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the construction industry or related field

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of construction accounting principles and processes, including job costing and progress billing, preferred

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers and other team members
