As the Database Analyst Senior, you will support Oracle databases to ensure data integrity, security, and stability.In this position, you will be responsible to provide adequate computer resources and up-to-date software environment to our various customers.This position will be responsible for monitoring and tuning database performance.It ensures that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies.The position loads, or assists in loading of, database software, upgrade and patching.This position will assist with the evaluation and selection of infrastructure components and provide operational support for the database, ensuring data integrity, database availability, and performance.The Senior Database Analyst is needed to provide the degree of support that our agency customers currently expect and to meet their future needs.
The essential elements of the job duties:Develop and advise on standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment.Evaluate technology and products to determine the feasibility of adding to agency standards.Develop work plans for assigned projects and manage the execution.Design and implement logical and physical databases of a moderately to large complex nature.Determine aggregation, partitioning and indexing strategies for physical data.Monitor and tune database performance, including SQL scripts, hints, execution plans, and materialized views.Administer end-user access and security at the database level.Ensure that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies.
