What does the role look like?
Collins Aerospace Systems in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the Gears production department. This role encompasses oversight of a highly skilled legacy machining area as well as a state-of-the-art 'Best in Class' machining cell, featuring substantial investments in cutting-edge equipment and innovative methods.
As a key figure in the Collins Wolverhampton business, the coordination of Gears production is integral and carries substantial responsibility. This position requires a flexible approach, as shift work and occasional overtime will be essential to meet production demands and ensure operational efficiency.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Manages a team of skilled professionals, effectively establishing priorities, communicating requirements, and allocating work.
Strives to achieve on-time production schedules, conducting process confirmations through pitch walks, KPI monitoring, and plan adherence checks.
Provides real-time problem resolution support for production teams, eliminating constraints and taking ownership of training and development programs for staff.
Oversees time and attendance, including management of overtime and holidays.
Leads tiered reviews for the area, managing escalations, and actively participates in quality clinic reviews for prompt action closure.
Prioritizes Safety and Environmental requirements to eliminate risks.
Champions kaizen and continuous improvement solutions.

Relevant industry experience ideally within Aerospace or a CNC Machining environment.
