Senior Manager; Transportation, Logistics & Warehouse
ABOUT YOU:
The Senior Manager of Transportation, Logistics & Warehouse will plan and lead Jostens distribution and logistics Operations. This position will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of Jostens products and services to customers, while optimizing costs and complying with all relevant regulations.
YOU HAVE:
Technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, transportation management software, warehouse management systems, and ERPs.
Attention to detail. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Great communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Experience. Strong knowledge of transportation and distribution operations, systems, and regulations.
Education. Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business, or a related field and 4 years of experience in distribution and logistics management, preferably in a similar industry -OR- 8 years of appropriate experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred. MBA or advanced degree.
YOU WILL:
Develop and implement the strategic plans and policies to drive distribution network optimization, performance, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction goals across Jostens global businesses.
Create. Establish a centralized WMS/system strategy to support warehouse operations, on time delivery, and inventory accuracy. Integrate this system into the corporate Oracle ERP.
Advise. Work with the leaders of each warehouse to establish best practices around warehouse operations to include, receiving, put away, picking, shipping, and inventory control. Put a special focus on transitioning from a LIFO to FIFO operation.
Establish the operational metrics for warehouse operations and global logistics. Track these metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to meet business requirements, customer expectations, and budget constraints. Incorporate this metric tracking into the Weekly Operations Meeting.
Manage. Establish the annual budget to support the annual strategic plan. Execute warehouse operations and global logistics to the budget.
Collaborate. Partner with Jostens EHS leadership to establish a Global Safety Program that puts the safety of Jostens Team Members first. Track the appropriate actions and safety metrics to support the “Drive to Zero.”
Partner. Work closely with the Global Sourcing Team to ensure that the best shipping rates by mode and location are established.
Drive Continuous Improvement efforts to meet annual targets.
Support and maintain. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to transportation and distribution, such as DOT, OSHA, and EPA.
Lead the Global Distribution Council to drive adoption of uniform, best practices across the network.
Typical/expected % of overnight travel: 25%
