Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Create, maintain, and utilize data analysis tools that connect ERP systems data within the organization that are required for planning, inventory management, and reporting. Maintain functionality of Microsoft Access databases and other reporting and visualization tools while designing, developing, testing, and implementing new databases and reports in such programs as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, SQL, utilizing information from the data warehouse. Coordinate and manage physical inventories and cycle counts. Manage projects as well as participate on teams regarding key business initiatives. Support ad hoc requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates and manages physical inventory and cycle count processes. Works closely with manufacturing, materials management and warehousing and finance groups to provide guidance on inventory variance reconciliation to ensure only appropriate adjustments are taken. Documents variances and adjustments to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence and assure a high level of inventory accuracy, leading to reduced inventory levels and carrying costs.
Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Perform detailed data manipulation and analysis concerning, planning, forecasting, net requirements, inventory management, backorder recovery, service, pharmaceutical quota management, Sales & Operations Planning process, and other relevant issues.
Must have the ability to identify issues, problems, and opportunities and develop technical resolution option and share with Managers as appropriate.
Work closely with IS support to assess system-related issues and ensure appropriate IS actions are communicated and delivered.
Develop, maintain, and train others on the make-up of these analytical tools to support planning, inventory management and reporting.
Document work instructions for use of tools and best practices for data-gathering across Pharmaceuticals.
Investigate new supply chain and inventory control concepts through continued education, seminars, training, and/or other research avenues, including those offered internally.
Support Managers of Supply Chain Planning as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.Experience:
Minimum of five years' experience in business analyst or equivalent experience
Proficiency required in SQL Server, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, and Excel
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
APICS certification, familiarity with DRP/MRPII systems, JD Edwards World, JD Edwards E1, BPCS, JDA Master Planning, JDA S&OP, JDA Demand/Collab, JDE WorldWriter and AS400 Query preferred.
Understanding of supply chain principles preferred.
Other Skills:
Proven analytical/problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze and effectively communicate recommendations based on analysis. Strong data extraction skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organization and time management skills.
