Description ECC is seeking a Senior Geophysicist. We are considering remote candidates within the continental US, candidates near an ECC office preferred. The Senior Geophysicist will support the Munitions Response Division (MRD) and lead all geophysical efforts associated with Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) investigations and remediation projects. The Senior Geophysicist will be integrated into all phases of proposal preparation, project execution, and report development. This position works closely to advise Project Managers within various offices in the proper application of geophysical methods and will oversee teams performing the collection and processing of both traditional Digital Geophysical Mapping (DGM) and Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) data.In this position, you will:
Develop technical and cost approaches for proposals that relate to both terrestrial, underwater, and airborne geophysical surveysPrepare and/or review work plans and Munitions Response Quality Assurance Project Plans (MR-QAPP) for geophysical surveysWork closely with Project Managers and project teams to ensure geophysical surveys are performed in accordance with plans and governing specifications, attend project meetings and engage with customersWork with subcontractors/vendors to identify and secure required equipment and services to plan and conduct geophysical surveysSupervise subcontractors and teams performing traditional DGM and AGC data collection activities and provide quality control of all processes and data products to ensure quality metrics are achievedPrepare and/or review geophysical survey reportsPerform other duties as assigned to support the Munitions Response Division (MRD)Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to the geophysical mapping, detection, and discrimination of buried military munitionsMeeting all requirements listed for Experienced Personnel in EM 200-1-15 related to a Senior Geophysicist Previous experience with both traditional DGM and AGC processes and sensors (APEX, Metal Mapper, MPV, Ultra TEM, etc.)Knowledge of the MR-QAPP Toolkit Modules and other applicable industry guidance documents and instructions related to the design of MEC characterization and removal actions Ability to develop well written technical approaches, reports, and correspondence to effectively communicate within project teamsHigh level of proficiency using all Microsoft applications that include Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Outlook, and TeamsProficiency with GIS, VSP, Geosoft UXO Land & UX-Analyze, and other applicable software and programsMust be able to obtain and maintain military base pass as requiredTravel required: Able and willing to travel up to 25% to perform pre-proposal and project related site visits. Other travel (meetings, conference attendance, etc.) will depend on the needs of the company.Education: Bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, geological engineering, or a closely related field.Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in the planning and execution of underwater and/or airborne geophysical surveys is a plus.
ECC targeted salary range for the Denver Colorado area is $95,000 to $110,000 annually
