  This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

  This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

  POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  This is a grant-funded position assigned to the Florida Department of Health in Broward County under the direct supervision of the program manager of Opioid Prevention in Community Health. This position coordinates the Part B surveillance system that conducts in-depth toxicologic testing.

  Coordinate the implementation of a surveillance system that conducts in depth toxicologic testing.

  Develop procedures for toxicological testing of specimens.

  Develop a surveillance system transport plan with BSO and community partners.

  Work with community partners to collect drug paraphernalia.

  Work with the Office of the Medical Examiner and Trauma Services to develop a data collection and reporting system and develop a dashboard.

  Participate in ongoing workgroup meetings.

  Disseminate at least one data report per year.

  Work with community partners to disseminate information and identify trends.

  Performs other related duties as assigned.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

  Possess a valid driver’s license.

  Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in physical science, biology, toxicology, or forensic science or other related field.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Have at least one (1) year of experience working in project management.

  Have at least one (1) year of experience working as a project coordinator with external partners.
