Job Description
Working as a key member of the NSPOS Operations team, the DevOps Engineer will report to the Operations team manager. The primary responsibilities are designing, implementing, managing, supporting, and improving tools and technologies in cloud environment for Oracle’s Point of Sale product (NSPOS) running on Windows and Linux OS.
This position will require participation on on-call support and off-hours maintenance work.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, test, document, implement infrastructure across all NSPOS environment and services.
Design tools for managing the infrastructure and develop clean and re-usable simple code.
Implement and manage OS and application metrics on the monitoring solution.
Prepare and maintain up to date documentation for Operations team and users from other teams, detailing usage, and configuration of deployed solutions.
Drive the continual evolution and support of the infrastructure plan for consistency and growth.
Resolve and troubleshoot operational issues involving physical and logical levels in a multi-platform infrastructure.
Train and mentor peers to develop the team’s technical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills:
Advanced programming skills and algorithms and data structures knowledge.
Advanced Linux or Windows administration knowledge in an enterprise environment.
Familiarity with a programming language as Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, C#, etc.
Hands on experience with systems management technologies (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
Working knowledge of Cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure), and technologies used in Cloud (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
Basic networking knowledge.
Basic knowledge of systems security.
Ability to multi-task, prioritizing multiple goals and initiatives.
Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as problems identification in advance and proposing solutions.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with passionate attention to detail.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent communication skills and business acumen. Interaction with business partners of other teams located in various countries, cultures, and technical levels is a key component of this role.
Team player.
Certification in Cloud platforms, hardware, software, or systems management technologies is helpful.
The bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in the IT field.
