Novelis Corporation. seeks a Senior Design Engineer in Novi, Responsible for the design, development and engineering activities on commercial vehicles and automotive body systems, assemblies and components. Requires a Master of Science degree in Mechanical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and two years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related occupation within the automotive industry. Experience must include performing the design, development, release and implementation in production of commercial/automotive vehicle systems; designing and engineering, body/chassis systems and components fabrication processes, testing, compliance and manufacturing; Working with sheet metal forming, stamping, extrusions, roll-forming, castings, joining, body shop operations, product launch and body assembly/manufacturing; Working with various body materials with emphasis on light-weight materials including Aluminum, composite and the different Aluminum grades and metallurgy; Working with typical Aluminum BIW joining processes: SPR,FDS, adhesive bonding, welding, bolting, and laser welding; Working with EV Battery box components and its sub-systems.; Utilizing CAD systems including CATIA V5; and Designing documentation systems including PLM, PDM, and BOM's.  Please email resume to [email protected] reference job code "SM24".
