About Senior Claims Advocate-Workers Compensation

  Position Overview:

  A seasoned claims position for a highly motivated and energetic individual who can deliver total quality claim service to large loss sensitive clients.  Must possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to communicate well with both clients and carriers. 

  Critical Job Functions:

  Serve as a mentor and resource to team members

  Acts as a liaison between the organization, its insurance provider and agents, claimants, and policy holders regarding the status and eligibility for coverage for all relevant claims.

  Handle/advocate - Automobile, General Liability, and Workers’ Compensation claims.

  Gathers information from insured/claimant, and analyzes coverage and discusses reporting to carrier or retaining loss options.

  Analyze loss trends and business issues. Tailor service plan to address adverse trends and mitigate claim duration, severity and costs using claims management solutions.

  Informs insured about his duties and responsibilities as well as advises insured of company’s procedures and acknowledges all claims in writing.

  Maintains proper claim file documentation including claim notes, correspondence, faxes, and emails in Sagitta and ImageRight .

  Monitors and follow ups on outstanding claims, updates accounts as necessary, answers inquiries, and makes recommendations for resolution.

  Conduct and Coordinate claim reviews with clients and/or carriers.

  Claim mitigation practices to include complex claims consultation, reserve analysis, and evaluation of claims.

  Advocate on behalf of clients on claim denials, reservation of rights, negotiating optimal coverage position.

  Assist client with evaluation and reporting of complex claims.

  Review reserving accuracy on specific claims.

  Develop action plan and assist with resolution of complex/high exposure or high-profile claims.

  Provide guidance on litigation management and medical management solutions.

  Partner with risk control and analytics/placement team to identify loss trends and develop a comprehensive program focused on reducing total cost of risk.

  Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  Skills/Qualifications: 

  8+ years in a claims administration role for a Commercial Lines agency required.

  Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

  Property & Casualty license preferred.

  Detailed understanding of multiple lines of commercial lines coverage (workers’ compensation, auto liability, general liability, and property.  

  Comfortable with internet-based programs and expertise in Microsoft Office products.

  Strong understanding of loss forecasting, experience mods, reserve analysis, collateral, etc.

  Expert business, settlement negotiations, and data interpretation skills.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  Must effectively deliver messages to C-suite.

  Ability to work well in a team environment.
