  Role: Senior Accountant

  Required experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or 8 years of related or equivalent work experience. In addition, requires a minimum of 5 years of private/corporate accounting work experience or 2-3 years where work experience includes at least 1 year in public accounting. Education/experience must include complex reconciliations, general ledger, financial statements, and/or government reports. Strong technology skills are critical, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel.

  Compensation: $69,355.72- $108,024.63. Applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. The typical hiring range is $75,000 - $85,000. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity.   02 The Job As a Senior Accountant on the Accounting and Reporting team, you’ll join an experienced team of 7 managing the accounting for World Vision. You will perform a wide variety of regular and recurring moderately complex to complex accounting functions including establishing accounting records, maintaining the general accounting system, and recommending modifications based on new regulations or policies. You’ll also carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies, and personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

  Your responsibilities will include:

  Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate World Vision Core Values into decisions within the scope of the role.

  Establish and maintain accounting records with appropriate supporting material; prepare and correct entries for general ledger reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals. Ascertain whether company assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded from loss.

  Reconcile more complex or difficult accounts that require in-depth analysis and research, including bank statements and inter-company general ledger accounts. Periodic review of internal controls

  Prepare and provide appropriate accounting information and reports.

  Produce and analyze financial statements, reviewing for completeness and alignment with contracts, guidelines and/or policies and make adjustments.

  Prepare and file annual tax forms and reports with government agencies.

  Coordinate problem resolution and provide technical guidance/training to other finance staff and customers as necessary.

  Research and recommend new systems and procedures to handle new areas where no procedures exist and handle special accounting programs.

  Establish and maintain strong relationships with managers and staff.

  Remain current and increase knowledge in related areas utilizing self-study and/or continuing education efforts.

  Develop a role-appropriate understanding of the international World Vision partnership and use this context to inform communications, actions, decisions, and solutions.

  Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  · Accounting/Finance Expertise: Understands and can apply complex accounting and financial principles. Provide insights into financial performance and variances for management review. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

  · Analytical/Research Skills: Defines parameters of task and desired objective; gathers and synthesizes relevant data; applies reasoning to determine relationships of variables and develop recommendations. Identifies trends and data to support decision-making and opportunities for improvement.

  · Relationship Building: Easily establishes a professional rapport and fosters a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Proactively contacts others and offers compromises as necessary to gain support and participation.

  · Attention to Detail: Accomplishes tasks thoroughly, showing concern for all the areas involved no matter how small, at the appropriate level for the task. Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

  · Communication: Presents articulately. Uses effective listening skills to promote the free flow of information. Shows consistency between words and actions. Works collaboratively with others to promote consistent communication across the department. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  · Flexibility: Adapts easily to frequent change, to varied working conditions and requirements, and to diverse individuals and groups. Willing to consider new ideas and approaches and apply them creatively.

  05 Salary Range & Benefits Your compensation and benefits are important to you so they’re important to us. $69,355.72- $108,024.63.
