　　Under general supervision, the ambulatory care services (ACS) registerednurse (RN) provides patient care and education in an outpatient setting todiverse patients, families, and community members throughout the lifespan.The professional RN adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA)standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code ofEthics to provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies criticalthinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with thehealth care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety andquality outcomes. 　　The Registered Nurse will be part of the Immunization and Travel Clinic whichis one of four clinics within the Public Health Institute at Denver Health.This position will work primarily in clinic providing Travel Consultations topatients traveling internationally. There will also be times when the RN willbe a vaccinator in the clinic or attend mass vaccination clinics in thecommunity.

　　Essential Functions:

　　Implement evidence-based plan with patient in coordination with healthcareteam. Develop, modify patient care and treatment plans as indicated bypatient's responses and conditions. Provide safe, appropriate nursing careand patient education in an ambulatory clinic setting. Including but notlimited to newborn visits, foot care, wound care, obstetric care,diabetes education, preoperative teaching. Safely administer medications andtreatments as ordered, according to policy. (20%)Nursing Assessment - Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patientsituation. Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities toidentify potential health or safety problems. Communicates findings to patientand appropriate healthcare team members. Data maybe collected as the result ofa face to face, video, or telephone encounter. (15%)Partners with patient and interprofessional healthcare team to reviewassessment and plan measurable goals and outcomes and strategies forachievement. Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess,plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Advocates for patients and familyin accordance with ANA code ethics and professional practice standards. (15%)Support interdisciplinary healthcare team through supervision, education,and training of other clinic team members including medical assistants,educators and care navigators. The ACS RN is key participant in the healthcare team providing problem solving, escalation of patient care issues,outreach to patients and families, and coordination of services and careactivities within the clinic setting and the community (15%)Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. (10%)Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments (10%)Nursing Diagnosis analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 　　Work Experience:

　　1-3 years Experience in a direct patient care setting
