  About the unit

  South Tower Pre Op PACU unit Royal Oak Weekend and holiday rotation based on departmental needs. South Tower Pre-op and recovery units provide 24/7 support for surgical and non -operating room anesthesia patients.

  Scope of work

  RN Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. Responsible to ensure safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative and clinical standards, and policies and procedures. Serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. Creates and ensures a desirable, safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients and other departments. Role specific competencies, responsibilities, roles and functions are based on the Professional Practice Model. This position reports to the Director of Nursing or above.

  Qualifications

  Required Bachelor's Degree in nursing.

  Preferred Master's Degree

  Required Completion of a Nurse Executive Council approved leadership development educational program. 3 years of relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.

  PACU /Surgical Services RN experience required.

  1 year of relevant experience. Minimum of one year of formal nursing leadership experience required for external applicants.

  2 years of relevant experience Minimum of 2 years demonstrated informal leadership experience required for internal applicants, may include but are not limited to: Charge Lead Nurse, Charge Nurse responsibilities, leadership on behalf of unit/site/system at Shared Governance Council, etc. Required

  AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

  AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months

  LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown 2 Yrs required
