The sixth UGN facility in Monroe, Ohio, officially opened in September 2015. The state-of-the-art facility has more than 375 team members and supplies Honda Motor Co. with superior acoustic insulation, carpet, and underfloor technologies. In the fall of 2018, UGN expanded the Monroe plant by adding another 150,000 square feet to the $50 million, 232,500 square foot facility to supply Toyota and Subaru. The UGN Monroe facility has already distinguished itself to Honda for exceptional service. Every year, Honda recognizes suppliers who increase value to the customer by removing waste within the overall product and supply chain. The Monroe facility was presented with the award in November, 2016.

The Quality Technician performs all necessary quality functions within the department and production floor; inspection, testing, receiving materials disposition of nonconforming materials and products, capability studies, result data entry, and team member training.
3rd shift opening - 10:30pm-7:00am
Responsibilities:
Assist in Production Team member training for Quality acceptance criteria
Inspection and/or Testing required to evaluate the quality of raw materials per specification as required
Understand and assist with implementation of process, part, and/or Standard Work changes
Understand and evaluate parts / materials per Customer specified requirements
Monitor Production quality per Customer acceptance criteria
Complete 1st off & prescribed frequency part inspection / verification of parts
Inspect, evaluate, and disposition Customer returns
Sort parts / materials per Customer specifications, as required
Provide training details to production leadership to evaluate capabilities or training needs of Team Members
Receiving inspection of raw materials from suppliers, as specified
Communicate to Quality, Manufacturing, and Support groups for out of specification condition on parts or materials
Secondary Duties / Responsibilities
Internal auditing
Sign off Production Team Members for Quality Alerts, Changes to documentation, etc
Training effectiveness audits of Production Team Members
Participate in Operational / Mechanical Troubleshooting, as necessary
Capability Studies, as requested
Perform laboratory evaluations, as required
Gather, support, and submit samples for testing, as required
Participate in Kaizen events
Cross training for Manufacturing department knowledge
Travel to locations for part inspection
Other duties / requests, as needed
Qualifications:
High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); six months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, team members, suppliers.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, as necessary.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and internet software.
Forklift License, as needed for moving parts
