  The position of Quality Engineer Supervisor is responsible for the direct management and operational oversight of the Quality Engineering Team. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and lead a highly experienced and professional team of Quality Department professionals in meeting the goals of our customers, and the company. The successful candidate will additionally ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.

  The Quality Engineer Supervisor will apply their knowledge and skills in various types of disciplines such as manufacturing processes, aviation repair and the regulations that govern civil aviation. This position will collaborate with other company experts of the business daily, thus ensuring the continuous growth of knowledge to successfully perform in the position.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Provide direct managerial oversight of the department and personnel.Coordinate, plan and direct all activities of the Quality Engineering Department in unison with the Quality Manager.Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate the plan to team.Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results. Utilize computer software programs and applications in assigning, verifying, tracking, and monitoring metrics and job assignments. Audit product work instruction packages generated by engineering. Review and approve work instructions, tooling, and inspection methods used throughout the company for compliance with original equipment manufacturer requirements and other technical data, current customer work instructions, and industry standards. Determine that quality systems and work instructions are in place to assure that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are returned to service or installed in any component or article released by the company. Ensure inspection methods employed throughout the shop for preliminary, receiving, in-process, post-vendor, and final inspection meet requirements to achieve airworthiness. Investigate customer complaints and warranty considerations and compile technical reports documenting the investigation findings and corrective/preventive actions.Make periodic reports to the management team on product-related quality issues, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime to meet the customer requirements.Perform functions, such as performance reviews, employee development, accountability of team members, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action.Collaborate with designated trainers and department managers to monitor, guide, and improve upon employee development as well as process improvements.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field, with emphasis on quality control. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification (CQE) A minimum of three to five years’ experience in the aerospace industry in the field of quality or engineering, with previous exposure to domestic and/or international civil aviation regulations.Experience or a general knowledge of continuous improvement programs, corrective action studies, preventive action programs, and root cause analysis.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  Knowledge of gas turbine engine components and a basic understanding of turbine engine operation. Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Above average knowledge of computers and standard software programs.Experience in interpreting and applying basic shop math and the use of measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers.Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsPrevious experience or exposure to leading a team, department, process or project helpful.If applicable, meet the prescribed requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration, or other regulatory entities.WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.

  Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.

  Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.

  Occasionally required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 lbs.
