  Roles and Responsibilities:

  We are seeking a Proposal Manager within our Standard Plants Product Line team

  The Position is located in Allentown PA.

  This position requires 10% domestic / global travel.

  The Proposal Manager's principal accountability is to support the regional commercial leads in winning profitable business with proper scoping and estimating, and communication of capital, technical, execution and operational risk.

  Opportunities are based on the H2fM product offerings which include Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) and associated H2 storage and delivery systems. Estimates are typically in the range of $1,000,000 to $15,000,000.

  Required Skills / Abilities:Developing cost estimates and technical proposals for screening, budgetary and firm bids, including project schedules and site layouts to support the commercial team.Broad based technical expertise for Hydrogen for Mobility (H2fM) products including Hydrogen Refueling Solutions (HRS) products.Displaying leadership and courage throughout the proposal development phase, holding functional support accountable to commitments, and managing the expectations of internal partners.Driving competitiveness in H2fM offerings, as well as each individual proposal to support winning profitable business for Air Products.Collaborating in developing winning strategies in conjunction with the commercial areas, Engineering Product Owners and Functional Engineering teams by understanding the competitive environment, the most optimal options to meet customer needs, and successfully working with customers, suppliers, and contractors.Understanding the commercial implications of the details of each estimate, making business critical decisions to drive competitiveness of the proposal.Developing, owning, and maintaining the costing tools, and other project development tools used to estimate projects, and develop proposals.Championing risk management efforts in the project development phase, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending mitigating strategies in documented risk management plans.Managing the use of Selling Expense funding for proposal development, to minimize cost impact to the regional business area.Ensuring that Engineering Standards, Engineering Procedures, and Work Instructions are understood, followed consistently, and improved upon where necessary, to enable optimal project development and execution.Education and Licensing Requirements:

  Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 5 years' experience in a similar work environmentPrevious proposal management, project development, project engineering, or engineered product development/ ownership/ management experience preferredDemonstrated strong leadership skills, with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and hold people accountable to commitmentsStrong organizational and administrative skillsDemonstrated strong skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (required) and Microsoft Share Point (desired)Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization, leading meetings, and managing conversations effectively with high level managementEnglish language proficiency (written and verbal) is requiredAbility to work effectively with a global team, interfacing with team members in various countriesAbility to work independently, being accountable for accomplishing work with minimal supervisionStrong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to take initiative with an entrepreneurial attitudeExperience from previous roles in hydrogen generation, dispensing, storage and/or delivery processes and equipment would be beneficial (not essential)Knowledge of siting and permitting requirements for flammable refueling systems would be beneficial, such as safety distances required and noise limits#LI-Hybrid
