Weed Control Supervisor (Colorado Springs, CO)

Weisburg Landscape Maintenance, an established commerciallandscape maintenance leader in the Pikes Peak Region, is seeking amotivated, responsive, and engaging Weed Control Supervisor who hasextensive experience in commercial application of fertilizers, herbicides,pesticides, fungicides, and insecticides.
This is a professional field manager position responsible for the execution ofall chemical applications (fertilizer, on lawn weed control, and offlawn weed control) on our commercial and HOA accounts. Scheduling, overseeing, and ensuring the efficacy of all chemicalapplications to turf, native grass areas, trees, shrubs, and off lawnareas (rock/mulch beds and concrete/asphalt cracks)Maintaining a clean and organized Chemical Storage areaPre-notifying clients who have requested notice before chemical applicationsApplying chemicals per maintenance schedule, safety procedures, andlabel instructions; including, liquid and granular application offertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticidesCalibration of sprayers (z sprayer, tank, and backpack) andspreaders to specified label instructionsEnsuring proper and accurate mixing and measurement of chemicalsSupervising and training spray techniciansDaily communication with field account managers, operations manager,and ownersAccurate and prompt submittal of paperwork (i.e. timesheets,pesticide notification forms, DOT sheets, etc)Snow removal during the winterComplying with all Department of Agriculture and EPA laws andregulations regarding the use of pesticides and licensing requirementsUpholding the highest standards of attendance, attitude,appearance, keeping a clean drivers license, and complying with companypolicies to serve as a role modelLeading by example; demonstrating and teaching work ethic (ourdefinition is being tough, quick, caring, smart, and respectful)
Knowledge, skills & other requirements:
Valid Colorado Driver's License with no major moving violations oraccidents in the past 5 years.Minimum of a Certified Operators (CO) license in Turf Pest Control.Qualified Supervisors (QS) license in Turf Pest Control with the ColoradoDepartment of Agriculture (preferred) or the ability to obtain one within90 days of employment.Minimum of 3 years experience with pesticide and fertility applicationsto turf grass, ornamentals, and landscaped areas.Minimum of 2 years supervisory experienceExtensive knowledge of turf grasses, native grasses, weeds, and ornamentalsExtensive knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides,fertilizers and their proper useMust have ability to safely operate trucks and trailers to transportmaterials, personnel or equipment.Proficient in English with excellent written and oral communications skillsBasic math skills including fractions and conversions to measure and mixchemicals per labelStable employment historyMust pass criminal background check.
