Description
The BuilderWorks Architecture team is chartered with developing systems and mechanisms to ensure that Stores is able to continue scaling to support the next order of magnitude of business growth. We cannot expect to support the next order of magnitude of business growth by scaling our current SOA, our SDE/TPM/PMT/Security Reviewer population, and more, by another order of magnitude from where we are today – we must drive substantial efficiencies into our architecture, builder tooling, and mechanisms. The BuilderWorks Architecture charter is complementary to existing efforts to improve developer efficiency. In addition to continuously improving “paved roads” (i.e., BuilderTools Golden Paths, ORCA, HEX, Datapath, Managed Networking, AmazonAPI, etc.), we must also better understand how the overall assembly that forms our service-oriented architecture (SOA) works together to deliver customer value “in the large”. The “in the large” view is where the BuilderWorks Architecture team will focus.
The Principal TPM in this role will make pivotal contributions and decisions that guide our overall technical and cultural strategy. Deep experience with Stores' technology and systems will be an important baseline to build on, to advise on our direction. They will also use their contacts across SDO to help communicate our thinking, collect input, and ultimately help drive consensus. This is an opportunity to have a truly foundational and resounding impact across Stores and beyond.
