We are Servant Leaders: Above all else, we are public servants working to improve opportunities for students and provide support to those who serve them.POSITION OVERVIEW:TEAs Performance Reporting division seeks to ensure continuous improvement in the academic achievement of all Texas public school students by developing and implementing a transparent, rigorous, and fair academic accountability system and by providing accurate and comprehensive academic performance reporting systems, tools, and trackers.This position is a part of the Accountability Data Processing and Reporting team, which supports the academic accountability system by processing and reporting accountability data. This role will perform complex programming tasks for the creation and analyses of datasets for School Progress Domain of the state accountability rating systems. The programmer will create and maintain reports for the state accountability rating systems, develop and manage extensive quality control checks of SAS programs, and optimize workflows to improve existing programs and applications. This role will also provide technical support to division leadership as new systems are developed and existing systems are enhanced.The Accountability Data Processing and Reporting Programmer is a senior-level position that will work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. Leads the processing and reporting of School Progress Domain within the accountability systems by performing advanced, senior-level SAS programming and data analysis for the design, creation, documentation, analysis, quality control checks, and maintenance of datasets for accountability and reporting.2. Manages the planning, design, structure, creation, and maintenance of data reporting systems, web-based applications, and reports. Develops and manages extensive quality control checks of SAS programs and data reporting systems for the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) and the Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS).3. Serves as a key technical support to leadership through research and data analysis to inform decision-making and ongoing accountability system development. Support the enhancement of the states accountability system through modeling the impact of potential changes.4. Supports the divisions customer service and communications workstreams. Contributes to the development of documents and communications regarding the accountability systems.Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or universityExperience: A minimum of four (4) years experience in SAS programming and complex data analysisSubstitutions: An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experienceOTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military Knowledge of SAS programming, research methodologies, database design and development, statistical analysis, and project planning, and documentation Ability to clearly document processes with attention to detail Ability to ensure accurate and high-quality work Ability to meet deadlines Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time to handle multiple projects and produce high-quality and accurate work Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions, while appropriately and effectively managing up Demonstrated desire to self-reflect and continuously improve Demonstrated willingness to learn; ability to independently and quickly study and grasp new information Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with colleagues, including giving and receiving feedback Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment while working under minimal supervisionAs an equal opportunity employer, we hire without consideration to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age or veteran status, unless an applicant is entitled to the military employment preference.
