　　Position Specific Description

　　NextEra Energy is seeking an attorney to support its renewable natural gas (RNG) development business. The role will be located within NextEra Energy’s General Counsel Business Unit and provide legal support related to energy transactions, development, engineering, construction, procurement, operations, marketing, general commercial and utility work. She/he will play a lead role in structuring, negotiating, drafting, and providing general transactional support for the business.

　　The ideal candidate will have:

　　Applicants should have a strong academic background and at least 3-5 years of experience at a top energy company, “Am Law 100” law firm, corporate legal department or financial institution related to the energy and utility industries.

　　Experience drafting and negotiating gas rights agreements, engineering & construction and procurement work, operations and maintenance work, corporate documents, acquisitions and dispositions of energy infrastructure assets and business management support.

　　Experience with renewable and clean energy transactions, and specifically renewable natural gas (RNG) project development, the trading and marketing of RINS, LCFS credits, RECs, carbon credits and emission credits is preferred.

　　Representing electric utilities and independent power producers

　　Familiarity with electric utility regulation.
