Amazon is seeking an experienced and motivated business development leader to join the Relay Product and Tech (RPT) team. This is a unique opportunity to join a team in the first business development role, focused on the US market initially. As the Principle Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for strategizing, managing, and executing high-impact partnership activities for carriers and drivers within the Relay network. This includes researching, developing and managing relationships as well as negotiations for the best-in-class partnerships for the audiences we serve. The role will entail concurrently driving multiple initiatives to launch and updates based on voice of customer feedback.
This key role will be highly visible at senior levels across Relay Product and Tech. You will need to work collaboratively with internal teams to identify current gaps in our current partnership offerings and research solutions to address them. You will dive deep and provide thoughtful analysis and will need to be action-oriented. Identifying and executing strategic partnerships is this role’s primary objective
Key job responsibilities
Develop and drive the Relay partnerships strategy that can evolve into a broad framework that distinguishes our offerings from the rest of the market
Lead identification, evaluation, negotiation, and management of partnerships for both carrier and driver audiences in the middle mile space
Be a central point of contact for key strategic partnerships for Relay
Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships
Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and senior management to gain approval and execute on the partnerships
Support the strategic partnership objectives and interests of the Relay Product and Tech team

Relay Product & Tech offers a suite of technology products that enable Middle Mile Surface Transportation operations worldwide. Our customers are carriers, their drivers, and Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) associates. Our work has tangible impact on customers every day, with the technology we help market ensuring items ordered arrive on the promised day.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
7+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
End-to-end negotiation experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as large-scale marketing deals, technical collaborations, and strategic technology relationships
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally
Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of senior management and external executive
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and executing on GTM strategies that are large in scope
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
Ability to manage and recommend strategic investment decisions
Thought leader with a solid understanding of multiple industries and their intersection with commerce
Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow and
Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $254,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
