The R&D Power Electronics Engineer is responsiblefor creating test setup to verify the operation of power equipment to beused in microgrid solutions, write up test plans, prepare lab equipmentspecifically to each power converter: bidirectional battery charger, PVconverter, bi-directional PCSs for energy storage. Prioritize the testtasks according to the lab resources and project deadlines. Perform thetest, collect data, and present a test report with key results andtechnical analysis for evaluation. Maintain the lab test equipment andsupport R&D project. This position is a hands-on, on-the-job learningposition at Excellerate Neenah Development Lab. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor \'s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-yearexperience, or Master\'s Degree with 2-year experience. Experience: 2 ormore years hands-on hardware experience in power converters: AC/DC,DC/DC, and DC/AC. * Knowledge of power converter topologies: AC/DC,DC/DC & DC/AC in terms of power flows and control concepts. *Experience with bidirectional power converters. * Proficiency inprogramming languages Python, C/C++ and other high level/ scriptinglanguage, Labview is preferred. * Experience in electronics design:analog and digital design, microcontroller and DSP design, schematicentry, component specification, board layout, test planning and circuittesting. * Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscope andcurrent/voltage probes for high voltage/current measurement, AC and DCpower supplies, power analyzers, function generators, multi-meters, dataloggers. * Skilled working in lab environment with high voltage andhigh current power equipment. * Passion for hardware simulation anddevelopment. Must be a hands-on engineer and excited to work in afast-paced environment. * Excellent written and verbal communicationskills. * Extensive problem-solving experience. * Experience incalibration and maintenance of electrical power equipment. * Experiencein setting up data logging devices and building battery test fixtures.* Experience in generating clear and concise test reports. Travel: NoneWork Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM,Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day ofthe week to meet business needs. This position has some level of remotework based on the project requirements and activities scheduled withinthe R&D group.
