SUMMARY:
As part of Corporate Accounting, this position is a lead role in ourtechnical accounting function. This position will serve as an expert onU.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues by researching complextransactions and new accounting guidance, independently assessingimplications, documenting conclusions, communicating with the impactedbusinesses and corporate departments, training, and managing animplementation plan. Routinely provide technical accounting guidancerelated to various contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives,VIE assessments, impairment analysis, acquisitions, divestitures, andoverall application of new and existing accounting standards. Superviseand develop other Corporate Accounting team members who assist with thecompletion of the technical accounting reviews. The candidate must relyupon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks/projects in atimely manner including the ability to work under tight deadlines andworking proactively with external auditors to drive timely closure oftechnical accounting matters. The candidate must have excellentorganizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as GAAPand SEC reporting knowledge. Strong written and verbal communicationskills and interpersonal skills are essential to this position in orderfor the candidate to work with various departments and peers across thebusiness and with various third parties. Building and maintainingeffective working relationships with various levels in the organizationand being a champion of Tyson\'s mission core values and team behaviors,the 5 C\'s, are critical to this role.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in an academic field directlyrelated and essential to this position, Accounting or Finance degreepreferred.
Experience: 9 plus years of experience both in private or publicaccounting preferred specifically including Technical Accounting/writingaccounting memos.
Computer Skills: Requires advanced computer skills; must have workingability with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and ability to performtechnical research using various research tools; some working knowledgeof SAP and Power BI preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent written, presentation, and verbalcommunication skills; strong interpersonal skills are essential to workwith all levels of management peers and subordinates.
Special Skills: CPA designation and Project management skills required;Significant in-depth knowledge and ability to research complex GAAPaccounting standards, document conclusions and communicate effectivelyacross accounting and non-accounting stakeholders, as well as: Abilityto simplify complex topics, both verbally and in written communications;Strong team-oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivationin working independently; Excellent analytical and leadership skills;In-depth knowledge of transactional accounting processes, Ability towork with a diverse group of people across various levels functions andlocations; Track record for exceeding multiple goals on various shortterm projects simultaneously.
