POC Testing Tech Job Summary : + Works with Point of Care Testing (POCT) manager, POCT Technical Specialist, and hospital staff performing POCT to ensure policies and procedures for POCT are followed. + Conducts training and competency assessment for waived tests to ensure hospital staff are familiar with the pre-analytical and analytical procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting of the POCT equipment. + Assists with distribution of quality control materials, assists with correlation testing, and performs quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. + Familiar with CLIA, Joint Commission and CAP laboratory standards. + Assists with data collection for monitoring quality, and assists with special projects as needed and as directed by the POCT manager. POC Testing Tech Qualifications : + Associates of Science in Medical laboratory technology or related science from an accredited institution. + ASCP or AMT MLT certification preferred. + 1 year laboratory experience preferred. + Experience in POCT or other healthcare related setting i.e physician office lab setting will be considered. + Must have knowledge of laboratory CLIA, CAP and hospital regulatory requirements.
