Job Description

　　Day-to-Day:

　　* Help round on hospital patients while managing a outpatient schedule - help manage pre and post-surgical care in clinic setting and occasionally assist with rounding on patients in the hospital

　　* Patient care is shared with physicians

　　* Direct care and management in the outpatient setting to include documentation of visits, patient and family education, order and review diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, management of symptoms, counseling and support, collaboration with and referrals to other health care providers, and provision of education to staff, students, and the community.

　　* Interdependent practice with collaborative physician(s) and team.

　　* Proficient use of Electronic Health Record in the delivery of care. Complete documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.

　　* Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.

　　* Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.

　　* Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.

　　Skills and Requirements

　　* Physician Assistant preferred

　　o Completed Physician Assistant program

　　o Current NCCPA Cert (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

　　o Must require license in TX

　　* Open to a Nurse Practitioner with Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and completion of NP Program.

　　* Acute Care setting in hospital/surgery setting NP experience -PA or a AGACMP (cert for the acute care space) or FNP with acute care exp worked in hospital or surgery setting

　　* BLS/CPR certs * GynOnc experience HUGE plus

　　* Any Oncology background null
