Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the Construction/Contractor industry, located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. This role involves ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and resolving payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Review and reconcile project timecards prior to weekly pay run.
• Conduct data entry for payroll information and generate relevant reports as required.
• Prepare off-cycle checks and retroactive pay when necessary.
• Address payroll inquiries from team members through phone or email.
• Act as a liaison between the payroll team and project teams.
• Complete unemployment earnings requests as needed.
• Handle set-up, pay-related updates, and termination procedures for craft payroll team members.
• Cultivate effective working relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Manage additional payroll duties including but not limited to union reporting, reconciliation, garnishment completions, and child support updates.
• Utilize accounting software systems and timekeeping systems such as UKG Pro and Kronos for efficient payroll processing.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must
• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration is necessary
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software is required
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is essential
• Experience in Auditing is preferred
• Ability to handle Benefit Functions effectively
• Proficiency in UKG Pro software is required
• Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System is beneficial
• Prior experience in a similar role in the construction/contractor industry is desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Relevant certification or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
