Fitness and Spa Assistant - Part Time

　　The Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester is located alongside the Erie Canal in Brighton and is a 200,000 square foot facility that houses our state of the art Fitness, Wellness and Recreation programming, Aquatics Center, Professional Theatre, Children’s Center and our premier Camping Program.

　　We are currently accepting applications forFitness and Spa Assistantsto support the day-to-day operations of the Spa locker room and Fitness Center by maintaining cleanliness and by providing excellent customer service for members and guests. Maintain CPR / AED certification and serve as first responder to emergencies.

　　Must be able to work flexible hours, as well as some evenings, weekends and holidays.

　　Requirements

　　Build rapport with members and guests, greeting them by name in a friendly and courteous manner

　　In the fitness center and spa, serve as the representative on duty to assist members

　　Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the fitness center and spa locker rooms by following a detailed shift checklist (re-racking of weighs, bars, and dumbbells, wiping down of all equipment and folding towels, keeping spa areas neat/tidy).

　　Explain and diplomatically enforce safety and rules in the fitness center and spas

　　Maintain cleanliness throughout the spa (vanity area, bathrooms, coffee bar, towel areas, lounge, locker room, fitness room and fitness equipment)

　　Maintain and provide towels (washing, drying, folding and transporting to and from laundry)

　　Give tours of the spa locker room to new or prospective members

　　Answer phone calls and provide polite and complete assistance to callers

　　Test the whirlpool chemical levels at designated times, record on daily sheet and call maintenance if chemical levels are outside normal range

　　Maintain and return member’s laundry bags after washing

　　Respond to emergencies/safety codes and administer CPR/AED during critical situations, if needed

　　Education - Certifications - Experience:

　　Hight School diploma

　　Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification

　　1-2 years experience working in fitness, wellness and/or customer service, preferred
