Qualifications:
-Proficient w/ Excel, advanced formulas can be taught - basic Excel knowledge
-HS Diploma w/ 2 years experience in Supply Chain/Logistics/Inventory/Purchasing capacity
OR
-Bachelors degree in business or supply chain type discipline
-Mostly remote -would be asked to come into VH or Chicago office 6 times per month (1 of which being a team meeting in Vernon Hills)
Eventually maybe 1-2x per week (Tues, Wed or Thurs)
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm

To start - drop ship ordering (high volume order processing)
Eventually move into inventory - stocking for warehouses, more complex than order processing
High volume processing and ordering
High volume emails
High volume meetings and calls

Role Overview
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for negotiating, purchasing and maintaining inventory for specific product lines that range between $5-$10 million dollars daily. The Purchasing Specialist is required to drive revenue and margin for their product lines in collaboration with their product marketing brand managers.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Successfully negotiate and purchase inventory for individual Sapphire, Gold and Diamond manufacturing lines.
• Negotiate Cooperative Advertising with vendors in conjunction with the Marketing
Department.
• Proactively identify alternative brand suppliers and manufacturers.
• Successfully negotiate additional allocation of product.
• Accurately set cost to ensure the company is competitive and products will sell in a timely matter.
• Successfully manage inventory for specifically assigned product lines.
• Ensure suppliers meet the requirements listed in the service level agreement set.
including fill rate, backorder management, lead time, and ETA accuracy.
• Effectively manage the relationships with partners and facilitate communication with internal stakeholders.
