Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Asset Logistics Division, Logistics Supply Support Branch, in Baltimore, Maryland. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of warehouse operations - ordering, receiving, stocking, inventorying, treating, and issuing materials and equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: - Receiving, storing, handling, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. - Sorting and segregating material and making note of overages, shortages and damages and making verbal and written reports to the supervisor. - Repacking various items that are received and do not comply with packaging and repacking to comply with warehouse standards. - Performing consolidation, integration and staging of material(s) and keeping logs (manual and/or computerized) of the process. - Ensuring safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances in accordance with safety regulations. - Operating large warehouse equipment such as forklift, hand and electric "pallet jacks", wire guided lifts, vertical and horizontal "carousels/mini-retrieve" and other automated storage equipment. Operating facility vehicles for local deliveries and pickups. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship is required.
