UNC Eye Carolina Crossing is hiring an Ophthalmic Imaging Supervisor to direct the ophthalmic imaging staff in the support areas daily. The Ophthalmic Imaging Supervisor services manages ophthalmic clinical operations, staffing, and equipment to ensure effective, efficient delivery of high-quality patient care and an excellent patient experience.
The ideal candidate must have a certification as a Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) or Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-C) to be considered.
Responsibilities :
Provides day-to-day direction to the ophthalmic imaging staff in support areas, as assigned. Adjusts daily schedules based on patient schedules, available staffing, and patient flow in the clinic areas. Responds to clinical and patient demands throughout the day to provide efficient staff utilization and maintain patient flow and consistency. Possesses broad clinical experience to supervise and perform ophthalmic imaging evaluations as needed. Collaborates with the management team to oversee ophthalmic imaging equipment including, but not limited to, maintenance needs, software upgrades, purchase requests, installations, equipment retirement, and inventory assessment. Mentors staff to foster growth and development opportunities within the organization. Identifies training needs of the staff and provides training opportunities to maintain competency. Monitors staff productivity and performance goals. Ensures employees are trained on clinical imaging protocol in accordance with clinic policy and procedures.
Performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialty specific imaging instruments, document procedures, and upload images in the electronic medical record. Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, optical coherence tomography, automated perimetry, slit lamp photography, and external photography. Provides patient-centric care. Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness. Meets daily productivity goals. Performs organization duties as designated. Ensures all equipment is calibrated, and instrumentation is in proper working order. Organizes and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.

● High School Diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● CRA or OCT-C required. COA, COT or COMT a plus.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Minimum 24 months of relevant experience

● Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
