  Job ID359161 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyStudent Services Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9704AC Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Duties/Responsibilities 40%: Education, Engagement, and Retention Programming Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop programs and opportunities to support the success and engagement of UIM and/or multicultural students, trainees, administrators, professional staff, and faculty. Serves as an advisor for the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) Twin Cities Chapters. Serve as a key resource to new and continuing medical students and their families. Assist in the development of content and manage the implementation of seminars and workshops hosted by the Center. Establish collaborations with departments for student retention efforts, intervention, and support. Assist in creating and expanding educational opportunities, culturally relevant practices, communication, and assessment. Provide oversight of the DEI Student Ambassador Program. 30%: Center Administration Oversee annual hiring, training, and supervision for student staff, ambassadors, and staff, including partnering with key stakeholders to guide and assist with the process. Apply extensive project management experience to determine when projects are in jeopardy of delay or failure, determine resources needed, and align resources to keep initiatives moving forward. Oversee the planning and implementation of major annual CMAE student-facing programs, events, activities, and workshops. Participate in the annual program evaluation process, including the development of measurable outcomes, and collaborate in future program modifications in response to student, staff, and college administration feedback and in response to outcome data. Participate in the annual budget process, allocate resources appropriately to ensure the center's success, and collaborate with the University's financial departments. Oversee student group spending, purchasing, and reimbursements Assist with and/or assign miscellaneous projects as requested by the Vice Dean of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion within the Medical School. 20%: Outreach and Collaborative Partnerships Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders within the University and the larger Twin Cities community. Collaborate with Admissions in recruiting underrepresented students to the Medical School. Serve on community and scholarship committees. Serve as a collaborator and member of the Medical School Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Council Serve as a consultant and liaison for university committees Coordinate partnerships within the Medical School for annual student conferences and events. Manage communications regarding diversity and inclusion programs (update faculty, staff, and students on diversity initiatives and opportunities around campus). 10%: Supervision Oversight of office administration, budgets, events, etc. Provide supervision to one FTE Program Manager. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree with at least 5 years of higher education or similar experience Cultural knowledge, competence, and experience within underrepresented communities Evidence of effective relationship-building, team-building, and oral/written communication skills People-focused to promote engagement of stakeholders (e.g., professional students, faculty, ODEI team members, professional staff) Works comfortably in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize conflicting demands Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle sensitive information, adhering to policies Administrative experience, including project management Ability to work independently and collaboratively Preferred Qualifications: BA/BS degree plus at least 5 or more years of professional experience in higher education administration, or master's degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience. Success in leading collaborative change processes and/or educational initiatives.
