This position provides financial support to programs in Norfolk, VA. This is a contingent opportunity projected to start April 2024.
Primary Functions:
Apply analytical methods from mathematics, science, and engineering.
Perform operations research analysts may be concerned with diverse issues such as top-level strategy, planning and forecasting.
Review resource allocation, performance measurements, scheduling, and the design of production facilities.
Utilize understanding of supply chain management, pricing, transportation and distribution, and the analysis of large databases.
Gather information, then select the most appropriate analytical technique.
Examine what may happen to the system under different circumstances.
Education/Experience/Skills:
U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, Physics, or Mathematics.
Three (3) years of professional experience in operations research which includes a ssisting in the coordination and management of large organizations.
Experience applying analytical methods from mathematics, science, and engineering.
Knowledge of operations research with diverse issues such as top-level strategy, planning and forecasting.
Understanding of resource allocation, performance measurements, scheduling, and the design of production facilities.
Experience using several techniques, including simulation, linear and nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, queuing and other stochastic-process models
Hands on experience constructing mathematical models that attempt to describe the system being studied.
Use of models that enable the analyst to assign values to the different components and clarify the relationships among them.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
